Detroit Tiger's Opening day - Come downtown

Detroit Tiger's Opening day-A holiday around these parts and downtown Detroit is the place to be.

Aristocat Limousine is Detroit's premier transportation service and we have put together some postgame and pregame planning done for you with this lineup of some of the areas best venues and their game day agendas. Get ready-it's going to be a great day.

1265 Washington Blvd., Detroit

313-963-2589

Book your seat for beer and ballgames at this downtown tavern, located in the historic Booke building. On Opening Day, a pitcher and four shots go for $14. Or try the signature Drunken Tiger martini, made with a secret Bookies recipe, for $7. With more than 40 varieties of beer and game viewings on the big-screen TVs, this is a not-so-martini speakeasy-style bar. If everybody doesn’t know your name upon your arrival, they will afterward. DJs and live music from area bands are scheduled through the weekend. Doors open at 7 a.m. Monday and so will the patio, where they’ll be grilling burgers, brats and hot dogs.

Elwood Bar & Grill

300 East Adams, Detroit

313-962-2337

You can’t get much closer to the action than the Elwood, which is nestled in the shadow of Comerica Park and Ford Field. This historic venue (built in 1936 but reopened at its current location between the stadiums in 2002) will be hosting radio remotes from WXYT-FM (97.1, the Ticket) Friday, Sunday and Monday to celebrate the games. There likely will be standing-room-only crowds at the art deco diner. But no matter how long the lines might be, the half-pound burgers and Monte Cristo sandwiches ($6.25) and $7 Bloody Marys will be worth the wait. Named for its original location on Elizabeth Street and Woodward Avenue, the Elwood and its adjacent garage patio will open at 7 a.m. on Opening Day.

Nemo's Bar and Grill
1384 Michigan Ave., Detroit
313-965-3180

For more than 40 years, sports enthusiasts have hailed this Detroit classic, where simplicity is the key ingredient. Since 1965, burgers, Budweiser and Detroit sports have brought the man’s man to this eatery near Tiger Stadium. In 2005, it was named the No. 3 sports bar in the United States by no less than Sports Illustrated. The walls, which are virtually covered with great moments in Detroit sports history, might have been one reason for the recognition, but it’s more likely that the garrulous regulars, many seated at the place’s numerous mahogany bar stools, made the case. Nemo’s signature burgers run $4 and some change. A heated tent will add to the Opening Day festivities, which run from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m.

These are just a few downtown area hotspots to have fun on Monday. Don't worry about the driving , our chauffeurs know all the best places to go. We have over 60 vehicles to choose from in our fleet ranging from sedans to 18-24 passenger Party busses.

Last minute reservations are welcome, give us a call (800) 682-1453, to reserve your vehicle today and learn more about our services http://www.aristocatlimo.com/.

A Consumers Guide to Purchasing Professional Transportation!

If there is one thing consumers learn the hard way in the limousine business, it is that the least expensive option is not the most reliable and efficient. As a meeting planner, who wants to take a chance on having your CEO or President missed at the airport and late for that important meeting? As a general consumer, well, no one wants to be late for his or her own wedding or frustrated by not having any transportation arrive for that special event.

Typically, most chauffeured limousine needs are for either "Special Occasion Service," or "Corporate or Group Move Transportation," and there are companies that specialize in each. There are, however, some common standards that any service provider should meet before you retain their service. Here's some tips you should keep in mind as you choose your limousine service provider:

(1) LICENSING - Regulations differ from state to state, and in Michigan companies require licensing from the Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT). Also most major airports have some kind of certification program for authorized chauffeured vehicles.

(2) INSURANCE - Operators should be able to provide proof of current insurance coverage for their fleet. If you plan on using the company over an extended period, it is wise to have their insurance provider add you as a "named insurer." This provides added security and the insurance provider will notify you if the policy should be interrupted or lapse for any reason.

(3) CHAUFFEUR TRAINING - A Professional Chauffeur is easily as important to to success of your event as a nice vehicle. Quality limousine services have an official training program for their chauffeurs. Some programs include video and/or classroom training, testing behind the wheel and apprenticeship programs. Choose a provider that places a high value on the caliber of their chauffeurs.

(4) VEHICLE & COMPANY INSPECTION - Everyone is beautiful over the phone. If you haven't used a provider before and time allows, schedule a visit and vehicle inspection. It's best to look before you buy.

(5) CHECK REFERENCES - Overall, the limousine business has a high degree of turnover. Whether a provider has been in business for 3 months or 30 years, they should be pleased to share letters of reference from important customers the company has successfully serviced.

(6) FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS - Weddings, anniversaries, birthdays and proms are special occasions that commonly require personalized attention to you specific requirements, whether it is a certain color of car or ???, these details are important when using a limousine. Many times a smaller company can personally attend to such details more effectively. Remember that bigger is not always better. The more specific your requirement, the further in advance you should reserve and pay for your limousine. When doing so, insist on a written copy of the contract that clearly states the details of your reservation to your satisfaction. Then relax and enjoy being pampered.

(7) CORPORATE OR GROUP MOVE - All corporate transportation must be prompt, reliable, flexible and respect the time and budget of the client. A good corporate limousine company will do so while placing your traveler in safe and comfortable "mobile office" which maximizes their time. Time normally spent renting a car, finding you way in a strange city, parking, buying gas and walking in the rain will be better spent preparing for your meeting or catching up on correspondence.

Be certain to choose a reputable provider with a lot of experience and a good record of accomplishment and they will make your company look good! Do not be influenced by a cheap price or a glitzy car. The prettiest limousine in the world has no value to a corporate traveler who just missed an important appointment or flight because their car was late or because it broke down - even at a cheap price.

Carefully selecting a quality provider will assure mobility and efficiency while making the best use of the corporate traveler's time and money.

The next time needing transportation in Metro Detroit consider Aristocat Limousine Service. Celebrating 21 years in service Our goal is to provide you with dependable, safe, first class service for all your transportation needs.

The Luxury of a Designated Driver

“Don’t drink and drive” is a familiar phrase in today’s society - and it’s a slogan that should be heeded and taken seriously. Having a designated driver will keep you out of serious legal trouble and more importantly, save your life or the lives of others.

A designated driver can be a friend or family member – or, another convenient option is to hire a cab or luxury sedan service. For a concept that barely existed only a couple of decades ago, designated drivers are now popular for New Year’s Eve parties and, for that matter, any occasion where folks might drink more than the legal limit and require transportation.

If selecting a designated driver in your group, the process isn’t as simple as gathering your friends together before a party and picking straws. Don’t just “take turns.” Best case scenario, everyone should be equally capable of abstaining from alcohol for one evening. However, this task should always fall to the most trustworthy person, no matter if he or she was the designated driver at the Christmas party. Show some respect. Being the designated driver generally isn’t that much fun, and it’s even less so when your friends hassle you about it. Remember, your designated driver is there to save your life. If you’re the host—ask. Hosting a party involves more than just putting out the food and keeping the fridge filled with beer. It’s also your responsibility to ensure your guests make it home safely.

It’s always appropriate to ask who the designated driver is. If no one has given this any thought, don’t serve any alcohol until a decision has been made. Another great and convenient options is calling a cab or luxury sedan. Often times, the best-designed designated driver is a luxury sedan service.

When you use a Designated Driver:
Everyone gets home safely.
There is no question of anyone driving under the influence.
No embarrassing field sobriety tests.
No visits to the Detention Center.
No unflattering booking photos or fingerprinting.
No fines.
No alcohol classes.
No action on your driver’s license.
Insurance rates stay low.

Don’t have a designated driver? Be one yourself. Stay sober. Call and arrange a luxury sedan (586) 574-0700 for your service.
